Tutors for SingFest 2017

 

Paul Sartin is a singer, oboist, violinist, composer and arranger, and also member of the late mult-award winning Bellowhead. He continues to work with BBC Folk Award-nominated ensembls Belshazzar's Feast, and Faustus, who are recipients of the German Critics Award (Schallplatenkritik Bestenliste) 2017 in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter/World Music category.

Gitika Partington has been running a capella community
choirs for 15 years and running singing workshops internationally for 20 years. Gitika has published 4 a capella/community harmony singing volumes. She's twice taught 5000 people a song in the Royal Albert Hall and claims she could 'eat Gareth Malone for breakfast'!

Chartwell Dutiro now living in Newton Abbot, Devon is a well known musician, mbira player, singer,song writer and teacher. He grew up in rural Zimbabwe where he started playing mbira at the age of 4 years old. Mbira is a sacred instrument of the Shona people. Usually in its context mbira music in played for the whole night in ritual ceremonies called Bira,in order to connect with ancestral spirits.

Emily Barden is a singer/song- writer and guitar and piano player. She loves gigging, laughing, living, singing, a cup of tea in the morning and a hot bath at night. "People are my inspiration, the good, the bad and the ugly. Telling their and my stories is what I do".

Anna Tabbush is a singer, composer, conductor and Singfest festival director. She has taught on the past ten SingFests and is back this year to warm-up our voices each morning. Anna runs community choir Guildford Vox and, among other projects, singing masterclasses, focussing on harmony and performance technique.
